About the Winery:

Moët & Chandon is the largest producer of Champagne, with 25 million bottles of Champagne made almost exclusively of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus grapes, in Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Vallée de la Marne, Sézanne and Aube. Ringing in at 150 hectares of rich chalk soil boasts the most extensive vineyard holdings, 50% of them being in Grand Cru villages and 25% being in Premier Cru villages. Not only is Moët the global leader in the Champagne market, it regularly leads in sales and consumption in every country in which wine is available.

The Moët family history stretches back to 1446, when Jean and Nicolas Moët were ennobled by King Charles VII. Their descendant Claude Moët originally founded Maison Moët as a wine trading company, and Claude’s grandson Jean-Rémy Moët decided to shift from wine trading to Champagne production. The house’s name became Moët et Chandon in 1832 upon Jean-Rémy’s retirement, when his son Victor Moët and his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles took the helm of the company.

Moët & Chandon is now one of the flagship brands of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, the world’s largest luxury conglomerate, and holds a Royal Warrant to supply Champagne to the House of Windsor.
